DESCRIPTION
Upon completion of the Administration Building by Gwathmey Segal Architects in 2007, Abby Suckle Architects was hired to suggest some small enhancements for the lobby to make it 'warmer and more inviting' for prospective students as well as improve the acoustical performance, lighting, graphic design, sense of Albany, and exhibition capabilities in the space as it is the first place that prospective students encounter at SUNY. Design options were produced for additional lighting planting, graphics, painting, reception desk, furniture and display. The University elected to replace the furniture and planting in the Atrium and to add some acoustical treatment to the space as a first phase and complete the remainder of the work on an as needed basis as funding became available.
