Emergency Department
Pediatric Trauma Room
ASA was both the architect and the Project Manager for the trauma room renovation. This was done with donor funding of $250,000. The doctors wanted to spend $110,000 on Day 2 medical equipment. be spent on new medical equipment. With the remaining money, we were able to pay for a new sink, millwork, flooring, electrical, lighting, ICRA, the GC and the consultants (engineers, expediters, IT). From a planning perspective, it was vital to make the room immediately functional for a staff that might not have worked together before and that seconds count. Multiple studies were done on the workflow so that the equipment was organized efficiently. The construction schedule was compressed into 10 days and the emergency department remained in operation during the entire process. At the end of the project, ASA was able to return about $12,000 to the department so that they could buy additional equipment.
